Flk William Barendsz (1955). The ship was Nederlands second floating factory ship and was in service for Nederlandsche Maatschappij voor de Walvischvaart to 1964.
Ifølge Joost Scokkenbroek, ved Maritime Museum i Amsterdam, were Nederlands whaling after World War heavily state funded and without this one had it all gone with loss. The entire catch was thus subsidized by Dutch taxpayers.
