Boiling Rier laid in Mefjorden in Sandefjord. from right: C.A. Larsen, Fraternitas, Ernesto Tornquist, Congo, Table Mountain, cosmos II, Vestfold and Foyn (II). The last three were nylevert from shipyards since the crash of whale oil market came after season 1930/31 and was delivered directly to circulation.
After circulation was Congo broken up in 1935, Ernesto Tornquist was converted into freighters (still owned by Pesca), they were thus no longer used as factory ships.

Short film from cosmos II i 1939 with title “Sea big game” subject to the “findings“. Time 15min.
This was found by Øyvind Thuresson at the Whaling Museum in Sandefjord and posted on facebook. Thanks to Øyvind and all others who dig and locate the forgotten historical gems!

Flk The shooter laid outside Tønsberg before WWII. The shooter caught before WWII (1937-1939) for German interests. During the war she was detained in Gothenburg. She was sunk in during an escape attempt in 1942. Still lies outside Måseskär and leaking oil.
