An A / S Congo catchers, presumably “wolverines In”, towing transport ship “Auldgirth” (bark). A / S Congo susceptible of establishing five catchers. these were “wolf In”, “But I”, “bear In”, “wolverines In” and “wolf In”. “Auldgirth” where, at the time the photo was taken, loaded with materials for the creation of A / S Congos land station in Baie du Prince, Cap Lopez. The dating of the picture, as it is taken on the first trip down, will be 1921-1922.

This picture shows well the construction of the bow door on the factory ship “C.A. Larsen”. Bow door arose as a result of that would avoid the patent to Sørlle the slipway in the stern. There was no great success and “C.A. Larsen” was the only factory ship that had this solution.

Cooking plant number ten in our series of ten.
Thor Dahl (A/S Ørnens) kokeri “Thorshavet”. “Thorshavet” was converted to factory ships for fishmeal 1969 and renamed “Astra”. She sank after a collision outside Africa 17. april 1974. One man was killed. This was the last former factory ship that had its base in Norway and Sandefjord. All the other great old ships were either sold abroad or scrapped.
